New Delhi, July 24 (ANI): The third meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs was held here today.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that the talks between the two sides were held in a constructive and forward-looking atmosphere.
"The two delegations reviewed recent developments in the India China border areas with the objective of enhancing peace and tranquility between the two countries. They also discussed confidence-building measures between the two sides. They consulted on measures to improve the functioning of the working mechanism and to make it more efficient," he told the media here today.
Akbaruddin also said that the two delegations further discussed the possibility of introducing an additional route for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
He added that the fourth meeting of the mechanism would be held in China at a mutually convenient day.
Earlier, the Indian and Chinese officials had their third round of talks here, to discuss ways to secure peace on the border.
According to reports, the two-day meeting of Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China border affairs would focus on ensuring better coordination and communication between the two countries. (ANI)
