Nigeria interested in business with Tamil Nadu

Chennai, July 24 (IANS) Nigeria is interested in trade and commerce with India, especially with Tamil Nadu, said the African country's envoy.

Ndubuisi V. Amaku, high commissioner of Nigeria, called on Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah Wednesday at Raj Bhavan here.

According to a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, Amaku said: "Nigeria is looking forward to starting up of new ventures and for promotion of trade and commerce between India and Nigeria, particularly with Tamil Nadu."

Amaku told Rosaiah that there were 700,000 Indians in Nigeria and he was looking forward for more Indians to invest there.

He said Nigeria is looking for more educational and business prospects in India and Tamil Nadu in particular.

The state was also the information technology (IT) hub and a sought-after destination for establishing pharmaceutical, automobile industries and others, Amaku said.
