Patna, July 21 (ANI): The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suspended a party MLA on Sunday for criticizing state unit chief Sushil Modi.
"You have a Modi in Gujarat and you have a Modi in Bihar. The Modi in Gujarat is doing all he can for the welfare of his followers. But the Modi in Bihar is killing us," claimed Amarnath Gami, the BJP MLA from Hayaghat in the state's Darbhanga District.
Modi, the senior most BJP leader in Bihar, is facing flak from within his own party for his alleged autocratic style of functioning.
Two days ago, BJP workers in Rohtas protested and shouted slogans against him when he was visiting the area.
Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Shivanand Tiwari described Gami's accusation and subsequent suspension as the beginning of the downfall of the BJP.
The JD-U broke its 17-year-long association with the BJP last month. The bone of contention was Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's elevation as the BJP's 2014 campaign chief. (ANI)
