Bangalore, July 18 (IANS) German automotive major's Bosch Software Innovations Thursday unveiled integrated software tools for enterprises in Asia-Pacific to address their connectivity needs in a networked world.
"As we expect a worldwide internet penetration rate of 75 percent and 6.5 billion internet protocol (IP)-ready devices connected over the internet by 2015, our latest software product will lay the foundation for enterprises to implement new business models," Bosch Software managing director for Asia-Pacific Thomas Jakob said here in a statement.
The company's latest software product comprises its business process management, business rules management and device management and device management to connect the various devices to the internet.
The number of devices, appliances and systems that exchange data and synchronise with one another without human input is projected to increase exponentially to about 50 billion by 2025.
"By making these systems compatible with one another and connecting them intelligently, a whole range of new services can be created, which will not only change the way people live but also how they do business," Jacob said.
Based on open standards, the software is scalable and suited for dynamic business applications.
"The software also enables an enterprise to have predictive maintenance by knowing in advance when machinery faults will occur so that measures can be initiated before production comes to a standstill," Jacob added.
Similarly, communication between vehicles and fleet operators will allow optimal fleet planning using real-time vehicle data.
