Telengana supporters meet , appeal for Sonia Gandhi's intervention

Hyderabad, June 30 (ANI): Telangana supporters in Hyderabad on Sunday appealed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to address their long pending demand for creation of a separate state.

The demand was made at a meeting at the Nizam College Shabbir Ali, a legislator that all Congress workers stand united on the demand for a separate state.

"Its been four years since we have been unable to spread this message in the nation but today in every congress worker from different villages a trust has been built that it's the Congress only which can give a separate Telangana and that it's the high command in the party, Sonia Gandhi who can do it. Today with this message hundreds and thousands of our Congress workers from different villages and the supporters of Telangana have gathered here as we want to convey our unity," said Ali.

Another meeting will be held tomorrow which will be attended by Congress leader Digvijay Singh. Telangana supporters hope that he would support their demand .

Narayan Reddy, a senior leader of All India Congress Committee (AICC) said they will continue working as trustworthy soldiers of the Congress party.

"Congress party men from all across Telangana have unflinching loyalty to the party and to the leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. We will fight for our statehood but will always remain loyal soldiers of the party," said Reddy. (ANI)
