Key economic decisions taken by cabinet

New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) The following are the key decisions taken by a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi Friday:

- Power companies allowed to import coal

- Allowed to adjust electricity tariff based on landed price of coal

- Coal India asked to sign Fuel Supply Agreements (FSA) for a total capacity of 78,000 MW.

- Divestment of another 5 percent equity in Neyveli Lignite Corp

- Extending the programme for collecting key data to pursue power reforms

- Scheme for mid-way change of contractors for national highway projects

- Two-laning of Uniara-Gulabpura section of National Highway in western Rajasthan
