NCP ministers quit Maharashtra Government

Mumbai, Sat, 08 Jun 2013 ANI

Mumbai, June 8 (ANI): Ministers affiliated to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have resigned from the Maharashtra Government in anticipation of a proposed cabinet reshuffle.

They submitted their resignations to party chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar.

Media reports have said that the resignations have been submitted to allow the NCP to prepare for next year's general elections, and give a free hand to the party leadership to review the political situation.

Prior to the resignations, the NCP had 15 cabinet ministers and five ministers of state in the Maharashtra Cabinet. (ANI)
