ACA chief Marsh to succeed May as FICA head

Sydney, Fri, 07 Jun 2013 ANI

Sydney, June 7 (ANI): Former executive chairman of the Federation of International Cricketers' Associations (FICA) Tim May will reportedly be succeeded by Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) chief executive Paul Marsh.

Marsh, who has appointed to succeed May at the helm of the world's central player body, will also be FICA'S chief strategist and spokesman, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Meanwhile, the report added that May's position has been split between Marsh and Englishman Ian Smith, to allow Marsh to maintain his Melbourne-based ACA role.

The report further said that Smith will be FICA's chief operating officer and will be responsible for the body's day-to-day management.

May resigned as FICA's chief executive, saying that he was tired of fighting the International Cricket Council (ICC).

May was ousted from an ICC panel last month amid allegations of pressure from India to remove him, following which FICA called on the ICC to investigate charges of ballot fixing after former Indian legspinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan was elected to the panel to replace May. (ANI)
