Sydney, June 2(ANI): Australian Defence Force (ADF) has launched a probe after receiving complaints about its personnel posting racist and religious slur on the social media.
Paramedics and firefighter from the Australian territory of New South Wales (NSW) have also been caught. All three organizations have begun investigations after reports of employees and volunteers posting comments on race-hate and Facebook pages, reports The Age.
The allegations about inappropriate comments made by the Defence personnel are the latest in the string of racist scandals, which have hit the Defence Force over the past decade.
One of the serving officer posted comments about Muslims saying 'kill them all' while a rural firefighter in his hate message said that Australians have a constitutional right to the freedom of speech and if the government finds their voicing of opinion as wrong then it should send all the Muslims back, the report said.
A peace group has complained to the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) about the remarks made by the firefighter asking them to take action.
The RFS later contacted the volunteer who agreed to remove the post from the site.
In the past there has been public controversy about social media postings by number of Australian soldiers in Afghanistan making racist remarks about Afghans, the report added. (ANI)
