Criticism of Apple's tax policies 'extremely warranted', says company's co-founder

London , Fri, 31 May 2013 ANI

London, May 31 (ANI): Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple with Late Steve Jobs, has called the criticism against the company's tax policies as 'extremely warranted'.

He also added that it is 'ethically wrong' for any corporation to evade taxes.

Companies like Google, Starbucks, Amazon, and Apple have been accused of evading the taxes by using complicated accounting methods, reported Sky News.

According to the report, these firms have been allegedly using controversial, although legal, methods registering their businesses for tax purposes in neighbouring Ireland.

Wozniak while giving a speech in Londonderry said that there are no personal ethics when it comes to corporations. Therefore, like the way people are not taxed on their profits but on their income, similarly the only solution was to tax large firms on all of their revenues.

The report added that Wozniak suggested the only way to make tax fairer was to make firms pay it on their income. (ANI)
