New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) International philanthropy group Safe Water Network Monday launched a tablet-based water and health education campaign designed to build awareness of and demand for safe water in rural communities.

One of its kind, the campaign uses multiple regional dialects and culturally specific marketing content to educate community members on the benefits of safe water and its link to good health.

These programmes are shown to local leaders who become motivated by the message and lessons, and spread the message ahead.

"Clean water is fundamental to the world's health. This is especially true in India, which faces a significant challenge related to clean water," said K. G. Ananthakrishnan, managing director, MSD in India, which partners Safe Water Network in the project.
