'Toss-winner' England to bat first in Lord's Test

London, May 16 (ANI): England has won the toss and has decided to bat first in the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's today.

According to reports, Alastair Cook has decided in his first home Test as captain to retain faith in Steven Finn ahead of Tim Bresnan, who will now rejoin county side Yorkshire in their County Championship match at Edgbaston.

Meanwhile, New Zealand has decided to play safe by putting the same XI for the fourth Test in a row with Bruce Martin as their specialist spinner, with left-armers Trent Boult and Neil Wagner and Tim Southee comprising the rest of the Kiwi pace attack.

English squad: Cook (capt), Nick Compton, Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Matt Prior (wk), Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Finn, James Anderson.

New Zealand squad: Hamish Rutherford, Peter Fulton, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Dean Brownlie, Brendon McCullum (capt and wk), BJ Watling, Southee, Martin, Wagner, Boult. (ANI)
