Indian National Lok Dal blames Haryana Government for Rohtak violence

New Delhi , Mon, 13 May 2013 ANI

New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Monday hit out at the Congress Government in Haryana over the recent clashes in which three persons were killed in Rohtak.

INLD leader Abhay Chautala said that the Police, government and the chief minister already knew that if they did not settle the issue through discussion then the matter could get worse.

He added: "They did not talk to anyone, nor did they act responsibly to talk to any of the clashing parties. They should have discussed with the people of ashram as well as the Arya Samaj people that there is a court order. "

Chautala alleged that the police, who were supposed to control the violent situation, instigated and looted the people traversing that route."Most people conveyed their message through the medium of media that police who had come there to stop the clash and violence, instead of attempting to stop the violence, they stopped the public and private buses en route to Delhi and asked the passengers to come down. The police then thrashed them, robbed money and messed their luggage, taking away expensive belongings including watches and rings," he added.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Karontha incident in Rohtak district in which three people were killed and 110 injured including a Tehslidar and policemen, during the clash between police and villagers.

Police has arrested the Chairman of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Acharya Baldev and others. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area to keep a check on the violence.

The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony. (ANI)
