New York, May 11 (ANI): Talking about sex with your mum can be awkward, but for Patty Marks and Tina Engler, it's the family business.
Engler, a longtime fan of romance novels, found them too safe and saccharine.
So in 2001-more than a decade before 'Fifty Shades of Grey' would make fetish fiction the stuff of book clubs-she started her own company, Ellora's Cave, to publish the kind of books she wanted to read and write.
When business started booming, mum Marks came on board as CEO, the New York Daily News reported.
Now Engler oversees editorial for nearly 600 writers and is herself a bestselling author of more than 30 books (under the pen name Jaid Black), while Marks heads up the business side to the tune of more than 150,000 books sold per month and 15 million dollars a year. (ANI)
