London, May 10 (ANI): A father from Sussex came to know of his 13-year-old son's death in a road accident after the news was posted by the boarding school on their website.
Christopher Avery-Wright was driving to the hospital after being told that his son William had been knocked down by a Range Rover near the school.
He started receiving calls, texts and emails by condolence offering friends, who had read the news on the 30,000 pound-a-year Worth School's website - before cops told him of his son's death, the Sun reported.
Christopher, 48, and his wife Lisa, have sued the school in Sussex for their alleged failures in their duty of care to their son.
The couple claimed that William and his classmates should have been supervised by an adult while crossing the B2110 to the school's rugby pitches.
Lisa said that the family has been living a "life sentence" since William's death in November 2011 and will be happy "not to receive a penny" if Worth School accepted its mistakes.
She said the school made the decision to post the news on their website almost immediately - before their son's body had been formally identified.
Lisa said that her husband should not have found the news while he was on his way to the hospital. (ANI)
