I would shout at drummers again, says Helen Mirren

London, Tue, 07 May 2013 ANI

London, May 7 (ANI): Dame Helen Mirren, who recently shouted at drummers after they disrupted her theatre performance, has said that she would do it all over again.

The 67-year-old actress, who was playing the role of the Queen Elizabeth II in the hit play 'The Audience,' cut short the end of the first act and confronted the parade that was promoting a gay and transgender music festival in Rupert Street.

The Oscar winner used several expletives, as she angrily shouted at them to stop playing.

Mirren arrived at the theatre on Monday evening sporting a T-shirt promoting the festival due to take place in east London on May 26 on the front - but the words "Yes please! Just not outside theatre" emblazoned on the back of it.

She told Sky News that if they make the same noise she would say the same again.

She asserted that she was very upset, was very cross, was steaming, as she spent five, 10 minutes on stage trying to allow the audience to hear what she was saying, which was sort of impossible.

Mirren said that the irony is that she loves drumming and she love drummers, adding that in another situation she would have been out here enjoying it with all the punters but unfortunately, she was doing a play at the same time. (ANI)
