New York, May 6 (ANI): Tennis star Chris Evert has slammed her former fiance Jimmy Connors after he accused her of aborting their child against his wishes.
In his book titled' The Outsider', the sporting legend has strongly suggested that the reason for the ending of their relationship was that she went through with a pregnancy termination shortly before they were due to tie the knot, RadarOnline.com reported.
The former world no.1 player has now opened up about the claims and has voiced her anger at Connor for revealing such personal details about their relation.
In a statement obtained by the publication, the tennis champ said that Connors had written about a time in their relationship that was very personal and emotionally painful.
Evert revealed that she was extremely disappointed that he used the book to misrepresent a private matter that took place 40 years ago and made it public without her knowledge.
"I hope that everyone can understand that I have no further comment," she added.
The couple was tennis' golden couple of the 70's but ended their engagement in 1974. (ANI)
