London, Apr 28 (ANI): Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that his foreign players do not understand him when he speaks because of his strong Scottish accent, although he added that he too, has difficulty in pronouncing some of their names.
The Scot, who speaks a little French and German, said that although he should have learnt a second language to make himself understood, no other player in his club can understand Scottish, The Sun reports.
However, Ferguson wished that he was fluent in Spanish for the South American players, adding that he would have had no difficulty in understanding a word if it was related to football.
Ferguson further admitted that he cannot pronounce the surname of promising 18-year-old Belgian midfielder Adnan Januzaj and instead calls him simply by his first name.
According to the report, in 2009 United's Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic poked fun at Fergie saying Old Trafford's foreign legion could hardly understand a word the boss said.
Meanwhile, Mexican striker Javier Hernandez has admitted he still cannot understand Wayne Rooney because of his Scouse accent, the report added. (ANI)
