New Delhi, April 27 (ANI): A 6-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in a public toilet in Badarpur in Delhi on Saturday.
Doctors confirmed that the victim had suffered injuries in her private parts, which appear to have been inflicted with a sharp object.
"When the girl was brought to the hospital we noticed that there were marks on her neck. It appears that someone tried to slash her throat with a blade. There were injuries on her private parts too," Dr Viplav said.
The survivor is undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) trauma centre and is said to be stable now. A passer-by in Badarpur spotted the girl lying unconscious and informed the police, who took her to AIIMS.
She was found in the men's section of the public toilet. The police have detained a security guard near the area and a few others for questioning. "The girl was found in a Sulabh toilet in Badarpur. There were marks on her neck. We will arrest the criminals soon," Additional Commissioner of Police Ajay Chaudhary said.
The survivor's uncle said that she had gone to the public toilet for a bath, as usual. People later found her lying inside with injuries, he added. (ANI)
