London , Thu, 18 Apr 2013 ANI

London, Apr.18 (ANI): Liverpool Football Club's managing director Ian Ayre has admitted that the team's owner John W Henry and Chairman Tom Werner have been trying to seek advice from Manchester United for improving their performance as a club.

Henry and Werner reportedly contacted Manchester United chief executive David Gill and Arsenal FC chief executive Ivan Gazidis to understand their mentality behind running their football clubs, The Mirror reports.

Ayre defended Henry and Werner's actions by saying that they intend to explore every avenue and are very open in their approach to improve the club, adding that it is always beneficial to contact a well-informed and genuinely interested person on having rounded perspectives about the sport.

Amid reports about Henry and Werner missing games this season, Ayre strongly opines that the management team is dedicated to restore the club's strength and riches, the report added. (ANI)
