Becks to donate part of PSG wage to Paris children hospital

London, Wed, 17 Apr 2013 ANI

London, Apr.17 (ANI): Footballer David Beckham will donate a part of his Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG) club salary to Paris's largest children's hospital.

Beckham's announcement comes a week after reports suggested that he was yet to fulfill his publicly made promise of giving a part of his salary, worth four million euros, to a children's charity in Paris, the Independent reports.

According to a report, it had been decided 'a few days ago' to donate five lakh euros to two charities, one of them being the Necker Children's Hospital in Paris.

At his introductory press conference at the Parc des Princes on 31 January, Beckham said that all his PSG salary would go to a children's charity in Paris. He had then said that he was not sure something like this had been done before.

He said then that children and giving to charity were two issues he was passionate about.

However, PSG has not confirmed this report, adding that they would make a public declaration when they are 'ready to do so'.

The hospital spokesperson is however, not aware of Beckham's promise, the report added. (ANI)
