London, Apr.15 (ANI): Manchester United's manager Alex Ferguson has alleged key striker Robin Van Persie is indulging in silly huggers as Persie tried to celebrate United's victory over rival Manchester City with big hugs for all team-mates and Ferguson.
Persie's 66th minute penalty brought an end to his 10-game goal drought and put United 15 points ahead of City, The Sun reports.
While Persie claimed that he wanted to celebrate with players and staff as he was relieved from the struggle of several weeks, the Scot accused Persie of nearly killing him with his hug, according to the report.
The report further said that Ferguson has encouraged players to celebrate saying that the emotion of players and fans finds expression, adding that all strikers go through ups and downs.
The report also stated that the Dutch striker had scored a perfect penalty-low, hard and into the corner and showed a lot of composure when the ball moved from the spot twice or thrice.
With a total of 80 points, United are set to overcome Chelsea's record of 95 points, the report added. (ANI)
