Tokyo, April 11 (ANI): All Nippon Airways (ANA), a unit of ANA Holdings Inc. has launched a joint project with AKB48, a group of Japanese girl pop icons, to encourage young people in Asia to travel more.
"Challenge for ASIA by ANA x AKB48" is a joint project of ANA and AKB48 teamed up with a common theme of "Asia" and "challenge".
ANA promotes business development in Asia actively with the management philosophy of "contributing to the future full of dreams on the wings of the mind that connects the world".
Popularity of AKB48 is not only in Japan but expanding their activity into other Asian countries. There are associated group in Indonesia - JKT48, China - SNH48 and Taiwan - TPE48.
ANA inspires the young people along with the creation of chances to fly to Asia and the world through the appearance of the life-sized idol group AKB48 members who "challenge" various events in the field of Japan and Asia, ANA will continue to support the various "challenges" of AKB48 members as their official airline.
Senior Vice President, Mr. Ken Nishimura said, "recently, I frequently hear about how young people are becoming less enthusiastic about challenging things and not traveling abroad. ANA and AKB48 promote cultural bonds of young people between Asia and Japan."
AKB48 original in-flight audio visual entertainment program - AKB48 hits medley with a guide by Yuko Oshima and Mayu Watanabe will be streaming through may 1 to June 30.
In addition, passengers will be allowed to vote in the poll to decide which member of
AKB48 is a favorite of fans.
ANA passengers who guessed the top 10 ranking at "election selection" on June 8 will get the prize of the right to interview as a "accompanying reporter" behind the handshake meeting event which to be held abroad.
Two people gets win and flights to the destination are also included.
