London, Apr 10 (ANI): Red Bull ace Sebastian Vettel has been urged by racing greats to apologise to Formula One for breaking his word and stealing victory in Malaysia from the hands of his team-mate Mark Webber.
The German sparked a storm of controversy by overtaking Webber after both drivers had been told to hold station, although the duo will renew their bitter partnership in China tomorrow with Vettel told to finally fully confess his 'dishonest' action, The Sun reports.
Former F1 driver-turned top expert John Watson said Vettel's actions in Sepang, Malaysia were shameful and dishonest, adding that he should apologise to the sport's fans and to the organisation.
Stating that he was astonished at Vettel's actions as the three-time world champion had come across as a well-adjusted young man, Watson said that Vettel still has not explained why he did not obey the team, apart from making some mealy-mouthed excuse at that time.
Stating that Vettel will be unpopular with people after his Malaysian fiasco, Watson further said that Vettel needed to be grilled in China over his actions in Malaysia.
Watson further said that Vettel should have paid a penalty for his actions, even though he admitted that there was a little chance of that happening. (ANI)
