How 'speed merchant' Hamilton habitually 'falls asleep' behind the wheel!

London, Sat, 06 Apr 2013 ANI

London, Apr 6 (ANI): British driving ace Lewis Hamilton has said that the moulded safety seat in his Formula One car is so comfortable that he often falls asleep at the wheel between qualifying rounds.

According to the Mercedes driver, the seating position in the Mercedes FW04 is quite inclined which makes it easy to fall asleep while in the garage, The Sun reports.

Hamilton further said that he generally falls asleep in between qualifying sessions when the car is at rest.

Praising the comfort of the car seat, Hamilton said that each Mercedes driver has a seat custom made to fit the contours of his body, adding that the seat is very light as it is made of very thin carbon fibre.

Hamilton also said that a driver sits in the foam-filled seat, which then moulds around his body and added that the seat also has safety harnesses on it which help the technicians to pull out the driver safely along with the seat if there is a crash. (ANI)
