Kolkata, April 5 (IANS) Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) offie Sunil Narine, who has tormented batsmen with his variety and guile in the Indian Premier League (IPL), rates dashing Delhi Daredevils (DD) opener Virender Sehwag as the most dangerous batsman he has bowled to.
"Sehwag by far is the most dangerous batsman I have bowled to. No matter what the situation is, he will always go after the bowling, which makes him the most dangerous batsman in the world," Narine, who finished with enviable figures of 4/13 in the IPL opener against DD, told the media Friday. Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by six wickets.
Narine, who took 24 wickets in the last edition of the IPL to help KKR win its maiden crown, said skipper Gautam Gambhir has handled him the best.
"Other captains have handled me well but Gambhir has a very good idea of the game and handles me really well," said the Caribbean, who prefers giving short and crisp answers.
The Trinidadian described his trademark 'mohawk' as lucky charm. "It is not a style statement. Rather, ever since I kept it I have been doing well in cricket, so I hope to keep it going."
The off-spinner who missed the purple cap by only one wicket in 2012, is not looking for better individual performances, rather hoping his team does well in their title defence. He also attributed his success to hard work and said he wants to continue doing the good work on the field.
For Narine, Sri Lankan ace Muttiah Muralitharan is the best spinner in the world. He also wishes to bowl to another Indian batting master Sunil Gavaskar.
"I have bowled to Sachin Tendulkar and given a chance I would love to bowl to Gavaskar," he added.
