New Delhi, April 5 (ANI): The Australian Government today joined senior Indian Government officials at a workshop on public sector innovation.
Australia's Acting High Commissioner to India, Mr Bernard Philip, welcomed the collaboration and said "Australia is delighted to be working closely with the Indian Cabinet Secretariat and government departments as they develop Innovation Action Plans".
Tricia Berman from Australia's Department of Industry and Innovation spoke to the gathering of senior government officials on 'Promoting innovation in Australian Government Departments - Lessons of Experience'.
Berman shared Australia's approach to fostering innovation and whole-of-government cooperation in the public service.
"All agency heads in the Australian Government have committed their Departments to innovate through signing an Australian Public Service Innovation Action Plan in recognition of the fact that creativity, responsiveness and openness to ideas are critical to the success of our work", said Ms Berman.
The workshop on 'Preparing Action Plans for Innovation in Government Departments' was hosted by the Performance Management Division of the Cabinet Secretariat with support from the World Bank and the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
Speakers at the workshop included Dr Sam Pitroda, Chairman of the National Innovation Council, and Dr PrajapatiTrivedi, Secretary, Performance Management in the Cabinet Secretariat. (ANI)
