New York , Fri, 05 Apr 2013 ANI

New York, Apr. 5 (ANI): About half of the unmarried couples are moving in together, and are staying there longer, a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The new study found that between 2006 and 2010, about 50 percent of women included in the study were living in with a partner before getting married, versus 43 percent in 2002 and 34 percent in 1995, the New York Daily News reported.

And 40 percent of those women ended up getting married within three years.

The amount of time couples live together before marriage has also seen an increase - from an average of 13 months in 1995 to 22 months in 2006-2010.

Researchers based their findings on more than 12,000 interviews of women aged 15-44, between 2006 and 2010. (ANI)
