Gurgaon, March 30 (IANS) A police constable was killed and an another injured when a truck they were trying to stop mowed them down, police said here Saturday.
The constables were trying to stop a truck carrying material illegally mined from the Aravali mountain range on Nuh-Taoru road in Mewat district early Saturday.
The truck driver has been booked for murder, police said.
Constable Pawan Kumar, 28, was crushed to death near Choor Chabutra, 30 km from here. Constable Vinod Kumar was injured and was rushed to hospital, where his condition is stable.
Pawan Kumar is survived by his wife and three children.
