1 in 4 kids don't know reason for celebrating Easter

London, March 28 (ANI): One in four British children think that Easter is celebrated as the date chocolate was invented, while a similar number of kids reckon the annual Christian festival marks the birthday of the Easter bunny, a survey has revealed.

The survey by Travelodge found that six out of 10 children said they had no idea why eggs were eaten and 87 per cent of parents said they would not take their kids to church, the Daily Star reported.

The survey found that a third of families usually taking trips to the coast as spending time together as a family is an important part of the Easter break.

Most of the respondents preferred going to Blackpool, Brighton, and Devon and Cornwall while a quarter said that they plan to visit the Lake District, Wales, the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District.

According to the survey, topping the list of Easter family activities are going to the cinema, visiting family and friends, baking, going on a picnic and going to the beach.

Websites spokeswoman, Shakila Ahmed said that keeping the children entertained over the Easter school holidays is no easy task. (ANI)
