In the Lok Sabha, trouble broke out soon after Speaker Meira Kumar read out the obituary reference to Bangladesh President Mohammad Zillur Rahman.

Kumar tried to continue with the Question Hour, but as members were unrelenting she adjourned the House till noon.

Rajya Sabha too plunged into turmoil soon after it mourned the death of the Bangladesh President.

AIADMK members led by their leader in the House V Maitreyan trooped into the Well carrying posters of slain LTTE chief Prabhakaran's son, who was allegedly shot dead by the Sri Lankan army.

"Rahman's public life was marked by sacrifice and simplicity," he said, adding that the Bangladeshi President was also a champion of friendly ties with India.

The House conveyed deep condolence to the family of former Bangladesh President and observed silence as mark of respect to the departed soul.

Mohammed Zillur Rahman, who served as 19th President of Bangladesh from February 2009, passed away in Mount Elizabeth Hospital of Singapore yesterday where he was undergoing treatment for a critical lung infection from March 10. He was 84. (ANI)
