Button lends support to sick kids Down Under ahead of Australian GP

Sydney, Fri, 15 Mar 2013 ANI

Sydney, Mar 15 (ANI): Reigning Melbourne Grand Prix champion Jensen Button showcased his softer side as the McLaren ace visited sick kids at the Monash Children's Hospital to read them stories and help launch a new hospital radio station.

Radio Lollipop has been launched through Vodafone's World of Difference charity to lift the spirits of sick children by playing their favourite songs and letting them hear their own voice on air, the Herald Sun reports.

Button said the visit made him emotional and put Formula One wins in perspective, adding it hurts because the kids are going through a lot of pain, and it is very tough and no one is immune to it, and it's very emotional."

In a change of pace, Button also left his F1 chariot to get behind the wheel of an old school Datsun.

Button said The Datto was a great car, adding it was too nice, that was the problem.

Button, who has won three of the last four Australian Grand Prix's, said he was looking forward to the race rain, hail or shine. (ANI)
