New Delhi, Mar 11. (ANI): Congress Party on Monday endorsed the statement of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani that the people are disillusioned with the main opposition party.
Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said the verdict of the local bodies elections in Karnataka has confirmed this where the BJP has been relegated to the third place after the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular).
In an interview to a weekly, Advani said he feels 'distressed' that the BJP was not gaining as much as it should in the public perception.
"In the last few years, I have been feeling distressed to find that while the current mood of the people is against the present ruling party, they are simultaneously disillusioned with even the BJP," he said.
In his interview, Advani also said that the people of the country were also disappointed with the Congress because of their poor economic policies and various corruptions scams. (ANI)
