London, March 11 (ANI): Gary Lineker says his decision to quit Twitter sparked false rumours that his marriage to Danielle Lloyd is on the rocks.
The Match Of The Day host spoke out following a controversy over his exit from Twitter in January.
He said he was taking a break from the social networking site for personal -reasons - sparking a wave of rumours about the state of his three-year marriage.
The 52-year-old England, Spurs and Leicester City legend said people just went bonkers and tried to read into it something that wasn't there, the Mirror reported.
Lineker was miffed when they tried to claim the marriage was going AWOL.
He said he decided to go back on Twitter because he couldn't stand the fuss any more.
It was just absurd and nonsense, he added. (ANI)
