New Delhi, Mar 1 (IANS) Two-wheeler major Honda Motorcycle and Scooter Friday reported an 11 percent rise in sales for February, at 228,444 units from 206,043 units sold in the corresponding month of last year. The company said its domestic market share stood at 19 percent.
The company's motorcycle sales in the month under review grew by 31 percent at 108,553 units from 83,061 units sold in February 2012. However, scooter sales fell by three percent at 119,891 units from 122,982 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.
The company reported an increase of 33 percent in its cumulative sales between April to February in the current fiscal that stood at 2,502,164 units from 1,886,741 units offtake in the same period of last year.
Cumulative motorcycle sales grew by 49 percent at 1,171,266 units from 784,104 units sold in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
The cumulative scooter sales increased by 21 percent at 1,330,898 units from 1,102,637 units' offtake in the like period of 2011-12.
