Difficult to say if beheading issue over: Khurshid

New Delhi,Diplomacy,Indo-Pak/Pakistan, Mon, 18 Feb 2013 IANS

New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) Many bilateral processes were in operation between India and Pakistan but it was "difficult" to say whether the issue of beheading of two Indian soldiers was over, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said Monday.

"It is difficult to say that. I think we have been working on it and many bilateral processes are in operation which is what we really wanted," Khurshid said to queries whether India had moved ahead of the issue of beheading of Indian soldiers by the Pakistani Army.

"No matter how bad an incident is, we should not give a go by to our bilateral processes by which we try to handle every crisis. I think those bilateral processes are now under operation but to say that this is the end of the really unfortunate incident will be a little premature on my part. But let us wait for the outcomes," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

Pakistani soldiers had Jan 8 intruded into the Indian side in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, killed two Indian soldiers and beheaded them. This led to escalation of tension between the two countries, but the situation eased after a flag meeting between the two sides Jan 14.
