Sydney, Feb 16 (ANI): Australian cricket legend Matthew Hayden has said that he is not surprised by the rapid rise of teenager Holly Ferling in the women's cricket World Cup.
Hayden said that he was good friends with Ferling's mother Robyn, adding that Ferling has got her talent from her mother, who was good at sports, News.com.au reports.
According to Hayden, he was impressed by the thirst for knowledge and the intelligence displayed by Ferling, which is a valuable asset in a modern athlete.
Ferling, 17, who had played almost exclusively against men and boys until four months ago, has emerged as Australia's surprise weapon in the drive to the women's World Cup final against the West Indies in Mumbai tomorrow. (ANI)
