Johannesburg, Feb 14 (ANI): The family of Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius' girlfriend has been left devastated following her sudden death, according to a close family pal.
The Bladerunner, Pistorius has been taken into police custody for accidentally shooting and killing a woman in his home, apparently his girlfriend, who has been named in various media reports as model and law graduate Reeva Steenkamp, News24 reports.
According to reports, a police spokesperson had revealed Steenkamp's family members were seen outside Silver Woods Country Estate where the shooting occurred.
Condolence messages streamed in on Twitter and Steenkamp's Facebook page from fans and friends, with many expressing shock and horror at her death, the paper said,
On Facebook, her cousin Deon Steenkamp said: "RIP cuz this is tragic we will always remember you for your stuning smile brighting up everyone world."
"A life cut short too soon... praying for peace for both families..." a fan said on Steenkamp's Facebook page.
"Heartbroken for Reeva Steenkamp's family and for Oscar Pistorius. This highlights how unsafe most South Africans feel..." former Miss South Africa Melinda Bam tweeted. (ANI)
