London, Feb 10 (ANI): Football superstar David Beckham has already scored for his new club Paris Saint Germain by helping them land a massive 110 million pound shirt sponsorship deal.
French club PSG cashed in as soon as Beckham arrived in the French capital, with replica shirts bearing his name flying off the shelves at the club shop on the Champs Elysees at almost 100 pound a time, the Daily Star reports.
But according to a French newspaper that is just small change, and the paper reports: "After signing David Beckham, there is even more good news for PSG. According to our information, the capital's club on Saturday agreed an extension of its shirt sponsoring contract with Emirates, the airline company of the United Arab Emirates."
"The agreement, which focuses on a partnership of five years from next season, has risen sharply and reaches a level never recorded in France of 25m euros a year, including bonuses," it added.
This figure amounts to around 110 million pound and, according to the paper, will put the club in the category of European heavyweights including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona, the paper said.
On Friday, within 24 hours of signing for PSG, Beckham was plugging their shirts on his Facebook page, saying he had even bought one for his one-year-old daughter Harper. (ANI)
