Bangalore, Feb. 10 (ANI): Lashing out at the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over their 'anti-people' and 'pro-corporate' policies, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Sunday said that the UPA Government at the Centre and BJP Government in Karnataka have failed to address the problems of the common people.
Addressed a party rally here at Palace Ground here, Mayawati said: "Inflation, poverty and unemployment are at all time high at present due to the anti-people and pro-corporate policies of the UPA Government like FDI in retail sector. And the poor and middle class people are the worst affected by such policies. BSP has been consistently opposing such policies rasing voice in support of the people belonging from marginalized sections of the society."
"The UPA Government and the BJP Government in Karnataka have failed to meet the people's expectations, and now, the time has arrived to vote them out from both places. The Centre has introduced the Direct Cash Transfer Scheme, but it is also not going to benefit the poor people, because the government is not serious about them," she added.
BSP supremo appealed to all the party workers, supporters and office bearers from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka to gear up for the upcoming general election and state assembly polls. (ANI)
