International cardiology summit in Mumbai starts Saturday

Mumbai, Feb 8 (IANS) Over 500 cardiologists from India and abroad will participate in a two-day summit starting here Saturday to discuss core issues and new developments in the field.

Organised by the India International Forum Of Cardiology (IIFC), the Cardiology Summit 2013, is one of the most prominent events for the fraternity in India.

"This summit will address core-issues and the newest developments in clinical cardiology, electro-cardiology, cardiac imaging, structural heart disease, echocardiography and cardiovascular interventions," said Brian Pinto, scientific chairman of the summit.

"We believe that this event will add tremendous value to the participating cardiologists across the fraternity and enhance their knowledge, understanding and awareness of the latest scientific developments in cardiology, which will also have a far-reaching effect on the masses at large," he added.

The event will have symposia, interactive sessions, live demonstrations, workshops and courtroom presentations made by experts like Alan Maisel, Ravi Nair from US and Sashko Kedev from Macedonia, among others.

Cardiology Summit 2013 will also see participation from well known Indian cardiologists like Samuel Mathew, A.B. Mehta, Haresh Mehta, B.K. Goyal, Lekha Adik Pathak and others.

IIFC is a body consisting of eminent practising cardiologists and interventional cardiologists dedicated to enhancement of scientific knowledge, awareness and practice of the latest and most advanced cardiology related best practices.

IIFC in the past has organised cardiology summit in 2004, 2006 and 2011.
