Johannesburg, Feb 4(ANI): Dale Steyn picked up eleven wickets to help South Africa register a comprehensive 211 runs win over touring Pakistan on the day four of the first Test match at the Wanderers.

Set a target of 480, Pakistan were dismissed for 268 on the fourth day of the Test after being shot out for 49 in their first innings, Sport24 reports.

Steyn was chiefly responsible for their demise with his remarkable six-wicket haul, for eight runs, in 8.1 overs in Pakistan's first innings and 5/52 in the second. His match figures were 11 for 60, the paper added.

Wicketkeeper AB de Villiers equalled the world record of 11 catches behind the stumps, shared with Jack Russell of England, who pouched his eleven against South Africa at the same ground in 1995/96.

The 49 in the first innings, was Pakistan's lowest total in their Test history and also the lowest ever Test score at the Wanderers.

South Africa leads the three Test series 1-0 with the next Test starting in Cape Town on February 14. (ANI)
