Sydney, Feb 3 (ANI): Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has said he needs to work hard for his future, but welcomed former Test cricketer Michael Hussey's endorsement.
Appreciating Hussey, Khawaja, however, said it was his performance, not words that would help him gain a permanent spot in the Australian squad, News.com.au reports.
Hinting about taking Hussey's spot in the squad, Khawaja also said that he needed to keep his head down and not be too over-confident, because he still has a long way to go in the game.
Khawaja was called upon as an injury replacement for David Warner in Australia's current one-day international series against the West Indies, the second of which is today at the WACA.
There is also a possibility of him going on the tour of India. (ANI)
