Shinde is expected to hold discussions with Alamgir, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and also call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, pro-Telangana protesters staged a protest out his residence here and demanded swift decision on the issue of separate statehood, as the deadline set by the government, ends tomorrow.

Reacting to the issue, Shinde said: "Consultation process is on, it may take a little more time to reach on any final conclusion."

The Home Minister had on December 28, assured political parties and Telangana supporters that a decision on the issue would be taken within a month.

Earlier in the day, pro-Telangana students at the Osmania University in Hyderabad, clashed with police personnel when they tried to prevent them from taking out a rally to Raj Bhawan. (ANI)
