Kolkata, Jan 22 (IANS) The world's leading hotel management chain, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Tuesday said it plans to open hotels in every capital city of India.
The global hotel major plans to open 100 hotels in the country by 2015 under the Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson. Of the 100 hotels, 63 are operational and another 44 are in different stages of construction.
"Our plan is to open hotels in every capital city of the country and in emerging B and C towns," Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group vice president (operations), South Asia, Ronnie Lobo told reporters here.
The group owns global brands such as Radisson, Radisson Blu, Park Plaza and Park Inn by Radisson.
As many as 49 hotels would be built by 2024 in north India under the rejuvenated Park Inn by Radisson brand through the joint-venture with Bestech Hospitalities Pvt. Ltd., Lobo said.
The hospitality major formed a joint venture with the Gurgaon-based Bestech last year.
Lobo was talking to the media on the occasion of opening of a five-star hotel under the brand Park Plaza in the city.
He informed the media persons that Carlson Rezidor would also open a luxury hotel in Kolkata this year under the Radisson Blu brand.
