Clarke concedes rotation policy hurting Oz following Gabba ODI ignominy

Sydney, Sat, 19 Jan 2013 ANI

Sydney, Jan 19(ANI): Captain Michael Clarke has admitted Cricket Australia's (CA) dubious rotation policy is hurting them as in-form players are not getting a proper run in the team.

After the shameful Gabba batting capitulation for 74 against Sri Lanka, when Clarke was asked if it was difficult for players to get rhythm and confidence unless they were consistently in the team, he replied that he couldn't doubt it anymore since their performance in Brisbane was an example of it.

Clarke added if a team is playing well and winning consistently, it builds momentum, but it's still no excuse for the way they performed, News.com.au reports.

Clarke further said the Australian public wants the team to play as consistently as they can but he guaranteed that if they play like the way did in Brisbane, the public won't want any of them playing at all.

The bottom line is Australia's cricket bosses face a nationwide revolt unless they immediately shelve a rest and rotation policy blamed for inducing one of the most diabolical days in the sport's proud history, the paper said. (ANI)
