Watch out for 'shootouts' at five cities

New Delhi,Cinema/Showbiz, Fri, 18 Jan 2013 IANS

New Delhi, Jan 18 (IANS) Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor has come up with an innovative way of launching the theatrical trailer of her upcoming production venture "Shootout at Wadala". It will be launched with live staged shootouts across five cities, simultaneously.

"'Shootout at Wadala' is one of this year's biggest cinematic extravaganzas. We are doing the biggest and first ever five-city simultaneous launch of the film's keenly awaited trailer," Ekta said in a statement.

"Anil ji (Kapoor) and I will be visiting Delhi, while the rest of the cast is taking care of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow," she added.

A live shootout scene will take place Saturday at Noida's Great India Place Mall. It will entail a "blast" in a car in a cordoned offarea. Soon after, a live gang-war with stuntmen will entertain the mall visitors.

A similar activity will take place in other cities too.

The promotion has been planned with much thought.

"We have always mounted every film communication big and innovatively and believe that to be of importance. The trailer launch plan for 'Shootout at Wadala' is yet another instance of our belief," said Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures.

"Shootout At Wadala" is a crime thriller, releasing May 1. It features John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor and Sonu Sood.
