Narkanda (Himachal Pradesh), Jan. 15 (ANI): Heavy snowfall provided impetus to the business of locals as a large number of tourists visiting the Narkanda skiing resort in Himachal Pradesh to try their hand in skiing.
The large turnover of tourists has brought a cheer on the faces of the local businessmen as it provides impetus to tourism in the valley.
"Today Narkanda is the only place where snow is still there. Since the slope is north facing. People are coming in large numbers, as there is no snow anywhere else. A few facilities are lacking but if they are provided then it will be a big skiing resort in the sate," said O. P. Sharma, a local businessman.
"We have come here from Delhi. It is cold there but no fun. Here the cold is good and there is sunshine as well. Narkanda is a great place," said Ruby Chaddha, a tourist.
Narkanda, 65 kilometers away from Shimla, is a picturesque skiing resort which has received a lot of snowfall in the last few days and as the snows begin to melt at other places, fresh snowfall here in the recent days are attracting the tourists to try their hand in skiing. (ANI)
