New Delhi, Jan. 13 (ANI): Terming the latest ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) to be unfortunate, Congress Party on Sunday issued a stern warning to Islamabad and said that the consequences could be severe.
Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said 'all the things Pakistan is doing on our border, it is worrisome and unfortunate'.
"The government is keeping a close eye on the whole situation but I can only say one thing that Pakistan should not try and repeatedly play with fire, if they try and play with fire, the consequences could be severe," he added.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on its part hit out at the Pakistani Government and questioned as to who was controlling the army on the other side of the border.
"To whom are we talking to? We are having peace talks with militants. Who is running the government in Pakistan? Who controls the army in Pakistan? Is it in the hands of Al-Qaeda or Jammat-ud-Dawa or Lashkar-e-Taiba or Hafiz Saeed, who is controlling it?" asked BJP's national vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
"We are trying to have peace talks with militants, we are hoping for peace being produced from a factory of militants. This two face strategy of the Pakistan government, which is trying to justify these attacks, shows its clear intentions that they won't condemn these attacks or give any answers for them," he added.
BJP spokesperson, Shahnawaz Hussain echoing similar sentiments said the Indian Government should give a strong reply to Pakistan rather than making strong statements.
"The Indian Government should give a strong reply to this act of Pakistan. For the last few days, the government has been making strong statements but no action is yet to be taken. Pakistan does not understand the language of strong remarks, Pakistan is just politicising this issue," said Hussain.
" The stance of the Bharatiya Janata Party is clear; the entire country is mourning the death of the soldier Hemraj who was killed and Pakistan should be given a suitable reply," he added.
Two Indian jawans Lance Naik Hemraj and Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh were killed by infiltrating Pakistani soldiers in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on January 8.
Hemraj's body was found mutilated, sparking a diplomatic face-off between India and Pakistan and tension along the Line of Control that separates the two countries.
The wife and mother of Hemraj, who was brutally killed by the Pakistani Army along the border in Jammu and Kashmir, have vowed to remain on an indefinite fast until his severed head is found and returned to them.
Their bodies were found mutilated, sparking a diplomatic face-off between India and Pakistan and tension along the Line of Control that separates the two countries.
Pakistan has denied India's claim that its troops crossed the Line of Control to ambush a patrol party in the Mendhar sector in Poonch district. (ANI)
