London, Jan 11(ANI): World number one golfer Rory McIlroy has teed up to raise a good amount of money for kids' charities around the world.
The Hollywood hotshot, who travelled to earthquake-ravaged Haiti in 2011 to meet with survivors, is currently in Dubai gearing up for next week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the Sun reports.
However, the Ulsterman put his preparations to one side to launch his own foundation's charity drive, it further reported.
McIlroy said when he was younger his parents sacrificed everything to allow him to play the game he loved and having that support from his family gave him the opportunity to chase his dreams.
However, McIlroy added that he is aware not every kid is as fortunate as him, and further said that his aim with the Rory Foundation is to support under-privileged students throughout the world in the best possible manner.
McIlroy's tour bag will carry the name and logo of a different kids' charity for each of the first six tournaments he plays this year and the bag will be auctioned off to help raise funds.
The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children will be the first charity supported. (ANI)
